Medical Center / Museum District Neighborhood
Right in the heart of Houston, you will find the Museum district, where 20 museums and the 50-acre Hermann Park are all within walking distance of one another. The area is also home to the Texas Medical Centre which is the world’s largest centre of its kind. For those looking to explore the area outside of the Museum district, the METROrail is there to make this quick and easy. For example, Downtown Houston is only a few minutes away by METROrail. Because of the area’s proximity to the Texas Medical center as well as the easy access to the rest of Houston, it is popular with young professionals and medical personnel, as well as professors and students of Rice University.

What We Love
Hermann Park – Located in the heart of Houston right next to Rice University, The Medical Center, and the Museum District. We love coming here to get a change of scenery. On this trail you will see some art and the retention pond!
Houston Museum of Natural Science – Situated right next to Hermann Park, this is a perfect day out for children and adults alike. With permanent dinosaur and ancient Egyptian exhibits as well as regular special exhibitions, there is something for everyone.
Houston Zoo – We might be biased but this is the best Zoo in Texas! You must go to the Zoo Lights during the holidays. The whole place is covered in lights which creates a twinkling wonderland, guaranteed to get you in to the festive spirit.
Children’s Museum – It is called the children’s museum but it’s pretty amazing! The museum features hands-on exhibits designed to engage the senses and deepen understanding of the world around us.Take the kids but do not be surprised when you have just as much fun!
Miller Outdoor Theatre – A theatre like no other! With rolling lawns to enjoy in the sunshine and a canopy if the weather is a little more temperamental, whether you enjoy a bit of Shakespeare, like listening to classical performances or are looking for something a little more unusual, you will find it here. Plenty of performances also offer free tickets too, so it’s a trip that doesn’t have to break the bank. Why not pack a picnic basket and enjoy the show!
The Texas Medical Center – This is the largest Medical Centre of its kind in the world and treats an average of 10 million patients each year. Founded in 1945, the campus now spans 1,345-acres and includes a specialised children’s hospital and charity clinics. Quite simply, it’s the best!
